Early Notice for South Korean Universities Scholarships specially GKS (Global Korea Scholarship) and Professors Funding plus University Fundings Fall 2025 (Read Full Post). It is for Masters (MPhil), PhD or Research Exchange

Students who think they have low CGPA, do not miss this opportunity. Read below along with links
Soon GKS for Fall 2025 admission will come in February 2025, followed by the regular admissions in Korean Universities for Fall 2025 session
As in South Korea, professors in labs have fundings. So they hire students to work on their projects in return they pay stipend and tuition fee etc to students. To get Professor's funding, you need to contact professors to impress him/her from your skills and knowledge about his/her lab.
In February 2025, GKS (Global Korea Scholarship) will be announced which has two parts.
(a) Embassy Track in which embassy takes applications and finalizes candidates. The Korean embassy in Pakistan will announce it in February, March, 2025
(b) University track in which university finalizes candidates.
You can choose only one track out of two. For embassy track, you must have CGPA above 3.8 and IELTS 7+ band. For university application no such requirement, you can have CGPA from 2 to 4, but must have IELTS score at least 6
For university track you need to contact professors and impress him/her with your skills and knowledge about his lab. If professor agree to hire you in his lab, then you apply for admissions in that Korean university, which then nominates you as its candidate for GKS and in last GKS  selects the candidates from the pool of universities' nominations.

(The Main Trick, the reason for posting it) What if you are unsuccessful in getting GKS?

In case, you do not get GKS , you can ask the professor if he /she can fund your Masters or PhD studies and hence you can still go to study in Korea if you do not get selected for GKS. So, focus very carefully on Fall 2025 admissions in Korea. As you are already in contact with professors for GKS, you can ask them if they can fund your studies in case you do not get GKS. Because in Korea, professors fund your Master, MPhil, PhD, or MS leading to PhD degrees from the fund given by Industries.
****In Korea Professors also hire you for MS leading to PhD degree after a BS.
Some universities in Korea give scholarships by default to candidates such as UST Korea, and GIFT Postech. etc. But in any case, you have to contact professors.

So What to do now ?

1) Find your area-relevant to professors in Korea NOW
2) Try to contact them in a good way. Do Not contact them in an unprofessional manner. See the videos and read here about it given below
3) Apply for GKS  through them in universities there (when GKS open, before that contact professors early before they fill up their labs with other candidates)
4) Ask professors if in case you do not get GKS, it possible if they can cover your expenses of stipend and tuition fee
5) Remember that you have to contact them in a very good professional way, if you do not do it, you will not only decrease your chances of selection but will also reduce your chances of selection of other good Pakistanis as those professors will think that every Pakistani student is unprofessional like you. Do IELTS / TOEFL as now almost every university asks for it. Now you have enough time to take IELTS/ TOEFL
6) You can also look for previous vacancies/positions posted about Korea, especially by me. You can search for it by using the link below. As the same professors may be hiring new students for Fall 2025 session

7) You have now enough time to email and talk to professors in Korea, so spend time on searching professors and email at the most only one professors in a week after reading his papers and research for a whole week

10) Remember that South Korea is one of the most developed countries in the world with top universities there. Samsung, LG, POSCO, Daewoo, and Lotte are their own companies
11) In GKS, uncommon majors have chances of selection. Uncommon majors such as Management sciences, social sciences, etc. So, they must apply for GKS
12) Do remember that in Korea, you can get a professor scholarship even with a 2 CGPA out of 4. If you have good technical skills to impress professors. If you do not have technical skills, then do online courses and acquire the skills
