Fully Funded PhD & Self-Funded MS Opportunities at University of Michigan, Flint for FAST-NUCES Students – Fall 2025
We are excited to share two outstanding pathways for FAST-NUCES students to pursue advanced degrees at a prestigious U.S. university. Whether you are nearing the end of your BS or MS, or already a graduate, these programs offer global exposure and enhanced career prospects in cutting-edge fields such as AI and Data Science.

1) Fully Funded PhD Opportunity (and Direct MS-leading-to-PhD Pathway)

Who Can Apply?
  • BS Final-Semester Students & Recent BS or MS Graduates of FAST NUCES 
  • Exceptional BS or MS Candidates: With a strong profile in AI and Data Science, you can directly apply for a fully funded direct PhD (via a Masters-leading-to-PhD pathway) if you already have Bachelors degree or completing BS degree in June 2025 or for a fully funded PhD if you already hold a Masters degree or completing Masters Degree in June 2025 from FAST NUCES.
Program Details
  • Degree: PhD in Computer Science
  • Duration: 4 to 5 years
  • Funding: Fully funded by a U.S. professor—covering tuition fees, living expenses, and health insurance.
  • Nos. of Seats : 1 ~ 2 seats. Prof. will also try to recommend good students to other professors as well 
Eligibility Requirements
  • Academic:
    • Must have completed your BS or MS by June 2025.
    • Maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (current and by end of June 2025).
    • Demonstrate an exceptional profile, particularly in AI, Data Science, or related fields, with innovative ideas or relevant experience in developing global solutions especially experiences regarding relevant startups or having ideas of startups.
  • Admission Standards:
    • Fulfill UM-Flint’s requirements (e.g., TOEFL or IELTS or Duolingo is required; GRE not required). Please refer to the UM-Flint portal for detailed requirements.
Selection Process
  • Step 1: Submit your application by filling out the provided form: https://forms.gle/Gxi1ut4jdRVXFwUG9
  • Step 2: Applications will first be screened by the FAST-NUCES International Office through documentation review, followed by potential interviews or technical tests.
  • Final Evaluation: The shortlisted candidates will then be evaluated by a U.S. professor through task-based interviews. The professor may hire one or two candidates for the fully funded PhD positions and recommend other strong candidates to additional faculty.
Note: FAST-NUCES IO reserves the right to reject any candidate without providing a reason.

2) Self-Funded MS in Computer Science 

Who Can Apply?
  • BS Graduates: Must have completed your Bachelor's degree by June 2025.
Program Details
  • Degree: MS in Computer Science
  • Duration: Two years
  • Post-Study Benefits:
    • Eligibility for Curricular Practical Training (CPT), Optional Practical Training (OPT), and job search visas that allow you to remain in the USA for 1 to 3 years after graduation.
    •  Discounted Tuition Fee and also chances of Additional discounts may apply, though they are not yet confirmed. 
Financial Overview
  • Tuition Fee: $18,495 per year
    • Scholarship: For students with a CGPA of 3.0 or above, a $6,000 discount is available, reducing the tuition fee to $12,495 per year.
  • Additional Expenses (Per Year):
    • Miscellaneous Fees: ~$1,000
    • Registration Fee: $262
    • Living Expenses: Approximately $10,403 (varies by lifestyle)
    • Health Insurance: $1,674
    • Books, Transport & Supplies: ~$1,500
  • Estimated Total Cost: Approximately $25,000 – $27,500 per year
    • Two-Year Total: Approximately $50,000 – $55,500 for two years
Eligibility Requirements
  • Academic:
    • Must have completed your Bachelor’s degree by June 2025.
    • Maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (current and by the end of June 2025).
    • Has not done MS Degree, you cannot do another masters on this offer
  • Admission Standards:
    • Fulfill UM-Flint’s requirements (e.g., TOEFL or IELTS; GRE not required). Refer to the UM-Flint portal for specific admission details.
  • Financial Proof:
    • Must be able to demonstrate proof of funds of at least $30,000 USD.
