After 10 years, Yes after 10 years this scholarship by the Govt. of Pakistan came back. It was last announced in 2016.
Since then, HEC only offered it for Engineering & Technology in limited fields in 2021 & 2022. Students from many other disciplines did not have the same opportunity.
Think about it: many of the professors teaching you today studied abroad on this very and similar scholarship of the Government
For the first time in a decade, Social Sciences, Business & Governance and other non-engineering fields are back on the list. This is not a small window — this is a once-in-ten-years chance to fund your MS/M.Phil → PhD abroad, fully funded by the Government of Pakistan.

- Interdisciplinary & Strategic Fields
What You Need to Do:
1. Check if you already have a valid HAT score (valid for 2 years) — if not, register and take the HEC Aptitude Test (HAT). Aim for your maximum possible score — it directly affects your merit.
2. Complete your online application for it on the HEC portal before the deadline (28th August).
3. Review the full eligibility criteria, quotas, and required documents on the official HEC page.
