PHASE II - BATCH VI
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has launched the Interim Placement of Fresh PhDs (IPFP) program to create an opportunity for fresh PhDs to obtain academic experience and mentorship for one year in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and Federal/Provincial Government post-graduate degree colleges, prior to their formal entry into the academic job market.
Applications are invited for the IPFP programme Phase-II in all areas of study/disciplines for Batch-VI.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
☑️ Pakistani/AJK nationality.
☑️ Must be under 40 years of age on the closing date of the application.
☑️ PhD degree from any HEC-recognised university (Pakistani or foreign), which must be completed within two years preceding the advertisement.
☑️ Should have published at least two research publications in HEC-recognised or indexed journals.
☑️ Only unemployed applicants are eligible.
🔹 Those holding temporary or contract positions (or other sub-optimal jobs) in universities or elsewhere may apply, but if selected, will have to resign and submit a clearance certificate from their previous employer.

PROGRAM RUNDOWN
1️⃣ List Circulation:
- HEC will share the list of successful candidates of the pre-assessment test with recognised institutions for their ‘Consent’ to intake suitable candidates as per institution requirements.
2️⃣ NFDP:
- After an institute has consented to intake a candidate and the candidate is willing to join that institute, the candidate will get an opportunity to attend two weeks of outstanding training (free of cost) under the National Faculty Development Programme (NFDP) with a team of highly reputed International and National Trainers.
- No stipend will be paid during training.
3️⃣ Placement at Host Institutions:
- HEC will facilitate in placement as an IPFP Fellow at HEIs for a period of one year.
4️⃣ Monetary Benefits:
- HEC will pay a fixed Remuneration during placement, currently fixed at Rs. 150,000/- per month for a period of 12 months from the date of joining.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
✅ Interested applicants are required to apply online through HEC E-Portal http://eportal.hec.gov.pk/ipfp for IPFP Phase-II Batch-VI on or before April 15, 2025, at 1600 hours.
✅ Scanned copies of HEC-attested PhD degree, and/or an equivalence certificate issued by the HEC Equivalence Section must be uploaded together with the application.
✅ Deposit slip (cash counter receipt, Online or ATM Transfer receipt) of Rs. 3000/- (non-refundable) as application processing fee in favor of Director Finance, HEC in the Account Number 1742-79001334-01, Habib Bank Limited, shall also be required to upload.
✅ Applicants are required to post the hard copy (printed application form) along with the requisite documents, photograph, and original fee deposit slip at the address given below.
✅ Hard copy must be bounded and flagged properly or it will not be entertained.
✅ Eligible applicants will be required to appear in a mandatory pre-assessment test.
- The test will be held on Sunday, May 11, 2025.
✅ Top applicants who obtain a minimum score of 50% in the pre-assessment test will attend the mandatory training under NFDP, followed by an evaluation test to become eligible for placement at Higher Education Institutes (HEIs).
✅ Selected candidates shall be required to provide all required documents before the training.
- Successful completion of NFDP is mandatory for the placement at Host HEIs as commencement of ‘IPFP Fellow’.
