HackTheon 2025: Compete in Korea’s Premier Cyber Security Challenge & Win 10M KRW
Current Bachelors Degree Students take part in this Cyber Security Competition
Sejong city in Korea annually holds an international cyber security competition and conference for university students in all over the world to strengthen their cyber security skills and to discover talented students in terms of this field.
Hacktheon is a combination of Hacker and Pantheon, which means ‘cyber security-talented youth gathers in Sejong’.
- Overview of HackTheon Sejong Competition
a. Title of the Competition : 2025 HackTheon Sejong International University Students’ Competition
b. Participants : University Studnets (Korea·Foreign Countries)
※ please note that students in master’s or doctoral degree course are not allowed in this competition. plus, as it is a team competition, you have to make a team with no more than 4 students.
c. Level : Advanced (Korea·Foreign Countries), Beginner A(Korean students), and Beginner B (students from foreign countries)
d. Admission Period : March 17th (Mon) to April 22nd (Tue)
e. Competition Schedule
- (Preliminary round) April 26th (Sat), 2025, 09:00 AM ~ 18:00 PM KST / Online) / Jeopardy (Prooblem Solution) Method
※ 40 shortlisted teams for the final round (each quota : advanced level 20, beginner A : 10, beginner B : 10)
- (Final Round) July 10th (Thu), 2025, 10:00 AM –18:00 PM KST / Government Sejong Convention Center / Jeopardy (Prooblem Solution) Method
※ The final round participants will get the benefits of accomodation(hotel) and participation souvenir
- (Award Ceremony) July 11th (Fri) 11:00 AM KST / Government Sejong Convention Center / ※ Answer Key Review : from 9:00 AM ~
※ Award for the Winners :
- Advanced Level (1st prize winner (1 team) 10 million won = 2 million pkr), 2nd
prize winner (2 teams) (5 million won =1 million pkr), 3rd prize winner (4 teams) (3 million won = 600,000 pkr)
-Beginner Level : 1st prize winner (1 team) 2 million won = 400,000 pkr, 2nd prize winner (2 teams) = 200,000 pkr, 3rd
prize winner (4 teams) 500,000 won = 100,000 pkr)
