FAST-NUCES × GTU Exchange Programme | Zero Tuition at GTU


Overview


Under the active MoU between FAST-NUCES and Gebze Technical University (GTU), Türkiye, FAST-NUCES is nominating 1 to 3 students for a one-semester exchange during Fall 2026.

Selected students will:
  • Enrol at GTU for Fall 2026 in their respective discipline — completely free of tuition at GTU
  • Have their FAST-NUCES semester frozen during this period
  • Return and have their GTU coursework reviewed for possible credit transfer toward their FAST-NUCES degree
This is an additional (extra) semester in your academic journey. It is not a shortcut to graduation — it is an investment in your international exposure, professional confidence, and future career prospects.

01 July 2026 — No extensions will be granted.


Who Can Apply


All of the following conditions must be met at the time of application:

  • Currently enrolled as a Bachelor's student at FAST-NUCES
  • Eligible and willing to complete your 3rd, 5th, or 7th semester courses at GTU in Fall 2026
  • Students applying from Semester 7 must have a clear, documented plan for their FYP-I before applying
  • Minimum CGPA of 2.50
  • Strong English proficiency (both spoken and written)

Note: Some GTU programs are offered partially in Turkish and partially in English. These are marked "_TR-ENG" in the course folder. Students selecting these programs must verify the language of instruction for each course before finalizing their selection.

How the Academic Transfer Works — Read This Carefully


This exchange is structured as an additional semester, and students must fully understand the following before applying:

  1. Your FAST-NUCES semester will be frozen while you study at GTU.
  2. Upon return, FAST faculty will evaluate each GTU course to determine if it can be transferred/credited against your FAST-NUCES degree requirements.
  3. Not all GTU courses are guaranteed to transfer. Courses that do not transfer will still need to be completed at FAST-NUCES.
  4. This means you will complete at least one additional semester at FAST-NUCES upon return.
  5. You may also request elective courses at GTU. If multiple students request the same elective, GTU may arrange it as a group offering. Specific Turkish-language courses being taught in English can also be explored and requested.
  6.  2 ECTS = 01 Credit hours of FAST NUCES 
Why is this still worth it?
The semester abroad gives you hands-on experience in an international academic environment, exposure to a new education system, cultural immersion, and stronger professional networks — all of which significantly enhance your CV and your eligibility for postgraduate study abroad, including at GTU itself for a Master's degree.

Apply only if you are genuinely ready to invest this additional time. If you are, the return on this experience is exceptional.


Tuition & Financial Information


GTU charges zero tuition to FAST-NUCES exchange students.

At FAST-NUCES, you will pay tuition only for the credit hours that successfully transfer from GTU, at standard FAST credit-hour rates.

All other costs are the student's personal responsibility:

  • International airfare (Pakistan ↔ Türkiye)
  • Turkish student visa fee
  • Accommodation
  • Meals
  • Health insurance
  • Local transport
  • Personal expenses

 Tentative Estimated Costs

Students will be assisted in applying for government dormitory placement; however, availability is not guaranteed and most students are placed in private dormitories. All figures above are approximate estimates and will vary based on personal lifestyle and prevailing conditions.

Before applying, prepare a personal monthly budget for Türkiye. You may use AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, DeepSeek) to help estimate your costs based on current exchange rates and your lifestyle.

Timeline
If you are still gathering signed documents by the deadline, submit your application anyway with a note stating your intent. We will consider applications with incomplete documents on a case-by-case basis.


How to Apply

  2. Monitor your email — interview slots will be communicated via email after the deadline.
  3. Appear for your online interview (02–04 July 2026).
  4. Receive your nomination letter with further instructions if selected.

Important Conditions

  • A nomination from FAST-NUCES does not guarantee a Turkish student visa or final acceptance by GTU. Both are independent processes.
  • Failure to appear for your interview or submit required documents will result in automatic disqualification.
  • All students must maintain good academic standing and comply with the codes of conduct of both FAST-NUCES and GTU throughout the exchange period.

Visa

The Turkish Embassy independently determines visa approvals based on its own regulations. The FAST-NUCES International Education Office will share the official nomination list with the embassy to support your application. Securing the visa is entirely the student's responsibility. Neither FAST-NUCES nor GTU bears any responsibility or influence over visa decisions.
